Destiny might have been updated with a major official patch, but for the week that runs up to Halloween, the team at Bungie has chosen to make the most important changes stealthily, by delivering a range of items which are associated with the holiday, including one that allows gamers to replace their heads with pumpkins.

Flight of Shadows is a consumable which can be used to change the appearance of the gamer’s respawn for a 24-hour period and is earned by killing Hive, as is the Jackolyte that transforms the appearance of the helmet.

Both are delivered in the All Hallows’ Eve and the description for it reads, “Guardian! Do not forget that you returned from the dark. Celebrate these days of the risen dead.”

DestinyTracker, which specializes in data mining official updates from Bungie in order to list all the new items introduced, has a more extensive list of the content associated with the Halloween period.

Presumably, all the new elements will be removed after the weekend and that’s why Bungie has not made them part of the official list of changes for the recently delivered patch 1.0.2.3.

Destiny and the constant stream of updates and events

The most recent major update for the video game was designed to eliminate some bugs that were affecting a number of players, while also tweaking the way the boss of the Vault of Glass raid was behaving.

The end result should be a more balanced experience for all those involved, but the studio is ready to listen to any feedback coming from the community in order to make more changes in the near future.

The official support Twitter account associated with the game also says that the update or the new content introduced a new set of issues called Monkey, which might affect some players.

Most of them have been dealt with, but those who are affected should contact the team.

Destiny is at the moment getting regular patches from Bungie in order to tweak the core mechanics, but the energy of the company is mainly focused on the creation of the new The Dark Below expansion, which should be offered on all platforms before the end of the year.

It will introduce a variety of new content, including more areas to explore, and Bungie says that it is only the first major content drop that’s planned for the universe, which is supposed to have a ten-year life cycle.
