Video game developer Bungie has already said that it plans to take more measures against those who cheat in Destiny and the company is now ready to offer more details on the process and the way gamers can make sure that they are not affected in any way.

In the Weekly Update, the studio explains that it is using two major tools to deal with gamers who do not play by the rules, Restrictions and Bans.

The first category is used against disruptive players in order to try and give them an opportunity to mend their ways for the future, with first-time offenders affected for a week or two, and others targeted for months.

Bans are reserved for the worst of the worst, those gamers that Bungie wants to make sure will never be able to get back into Destiny.

The studio adds, "Please be advised that you are the company you keep. If a cheater is a member of your Fireteam, you may well get caught up in the dragnet we have weaved to ensnare them. Be suspicious if someone guarantees you a flawless run in Trials of Osiris. No matter how skilled the player, victory in the Crucible can't be guaranteed."

Gamers should also make sure to turn down any services that are offered for a fee.

Destiny requires a solid Internet connection in PvP

Bungie also makes it clear that gamers need to have a constant connection to the Internet if they are aiming to get into the Player versus Player activities, and if they lack one they might get a restriction to the Crucible.

Common lag will not be taken into account, and the development team says that it is tracking statistics about every player in order to make sure that any disciplinary action is justified in the end.

As Destiny is entering its second year of life, Bungie is trying to make sure that the game remains as fair as possible and that there's no reason for gamers to abandon it because their adversaries are cheating and are going unpunished.

The Taken King expansion for the social shooter will be launched on September 15 and will introduce a wealth of new content, including a big six man raid.

Bungie is also planning to deliver a major 2.0 update at the same time, complete with tweaks to core game mechanics.
