The development team at Bungie is announcing that it is launching a dedicated event for Halloween in Destiny, called Festival of the Lost, which is designed to allow gamers to get access to a range of new content, including items and a quest.

The special content will be offered starting today, October 26, until November 9, with some of the included items also active after the period, although some of its events will be limited.
At the Eververse Trading Company, gamers will be able to pick up three new emotes for their Guardians, called Boo, Monsters Dance and Zombies Dance, which cost from 300 to 700 Silver, a new currency for the game that can only be obtained using real-world money.
Destiny fans can also pick up a special new item, the mask, which can be displayed in social spaces by interested Guardians and are required to access some of the quests associated with Festival of the Lost.
Rare versions are only offered until November 9 and can be obtained by opening Gifts of the Lost items, but gamers also have access to the Legendary Masks, which can be obtained during the same period but can be worn once it ends.
They can be secured by crafting, using some of the materials linked to the event, or by getting a Treasure of the Lost pack from the Eververse Trading Company, which is guaranteed to offer one of them.
Gamers can also get access to candy that offers some small tweaks to experience gain for weapons for a limited period.
Eva Levante also offers three different quests once gamers manage to gather enough items from the Tower.
Destiny is making big steps towards a microtransaction model

Gamers will be happy to see that Bungie is offering some cool game moments associated with Halloween, but many will be unhappy that there's no way to get access to the special emotes without paying with Silver.
The move is clearly designed to show how Destiny can survive in the future using a microtransaction business model, which encourages players to get a range of cosmetic tweaks for their characters.
Bungie has said that it has no plans to sell any items that can actively impact gameplay, like boosts for item drop rates for the major raids.
The Eververse Trading Company will continue to get new content that can be bought using real world money in the coming months.
The development team says that it will use the revenue derived from it to fund a live events team that is supposed to deliver new quests and missions for free, with a solid content pack scheduled to arrive about every two months.
Bungie is also aiming to deliver another major update for Destiny at some point in November, tweaking a range of gameplay mechanics.
Rumors are saying that an entirely new Destiny 2 experience is currently in development and will be offered on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 at some point in late 2016.
