With the completion of The Last Wish, Destiny 2’s Dreaming City is slowly being corrupted with Taken enemies. It’s also slowly turning up new secrets and fresh pieces of content, including Destiny’s very first raid: The Shattered Throne. This’ll put you in conflict with some very high-level enemies and it can be tough to even find the dungeon in the first place – so here’s what you need to know.

There are no prerequisites or level requirements to get started, though you’ll be facing hard-hitting enemies of around 590 Power. You’ll just need to head to the Confluence, toward the north-west corner of the map through Harbinger’s Seclude. You’ll need to make your way to the underground city and down the elevator shaft, then head right toward a portal once you reach the big room. That’ll lead you to the Confluence, which now contains a giant portal. Approaching that portal will give you the Shattered Throne quest.

The initial path will be a pretty straightforward series of platforms and enemies, but you’ll need to pay closer attention when you kill the first Labyrinth Architect. A symbol will spawn, and you’ll need to navigate the maze to find that that symbol and kill another set of enemies to find the next symbol. After about a half-dozen repetitions, you’ll be led back to the main room where the path to the next area will open up.

It’s a pretty straightforward descent from there, aside from an area where you’ll need to cautiously follow a ceiling full of beams while enemies attempt to knock you off – take it slow, send a teammate to bait those spawns, and you should be fine. It’s a linear path of enemies until you reach the first boss.

Here you’ll need to kill Keepers of Petitions wizards in order to collect Petitioner’s mark buffs, each of which can stack and has a timer associated. If the timer hits zero, you die, so you need to collect four to turn the buff to Petitioner’s Burden, then drop the item on one of the four plates around the room to drop the big Ogre’s shields. Repeat the pattern until he goes down.

After that, a quick offering and a linear path are all that stand between you and the boss: Dȗl Incaru, the Eternal Return. The Taken Knights will drop orbs that once again give you a timer that counts down to your death – get rid of it by jumping on the glowing pedestal in the middle of the room. However, you can only damage the boss while this Finite Thought buff is active. The Knights will also get shields of their own as the fight progresses, and you’ll need to fire at a big crystal to take those shields down.

That’s pretty much it – but if you need visual details on any particular point, be sure to check out the video walkthrough above from the always-excellent Arekkz. Our Last Wish raid guide will give you guidance if you’re still trying to finish Destiny 2’s biggest and toughest piece of endgame content yet.
