The current state of the Tower and the Traveler in Destiny 2 might be subject to change if there’s any credence to the recent leak. That being said, Destiny 2: Beyond Light is already confirmed to introduce tons of new content to the game to give fans a new taste of their favorite title.

Destiny 2 is about to enter its fourth year with the upcoming release of the Beyond Light expansion, which is expected to launch in less than two weeks. Apart from some major changes to the narrative with returning characters and lore development, the update will introduce some straightforward new content as well. As such, Bungie has already revealed ten new exotics coming to the game. These uniquely looking weapons and armor pieces are likely to become the center of players’ attention in Beyond Light.

While Destiny 2: Beyond Light has already been detailed by Bungie multiple times, there’re obviously tightly kept secrets, some of which might’ve recently leaked. According to a discovery made by a Reddit user Felwinter_123, there’s a new piece of Destiny 2 art located in the new PS Store’s HTML code. The image contains two extremely intriguing details - the restored Traveler and rebuilt Tower. The Tower served as the major player hub back in the days before the Red Legion attacked. After the invasion, the building was torn into pieces, and Guardians had to relocate to a new area. Pretty much the same happened to the Traveler - the gigantic spherical spaceship that’s been floating above the Earth’s surface since Destiny 1. The cosmic orb was heavily damaged and has remained like that until now - but the recent image clearly shows it’s been completely restored. It’s not quite clear what any of this means for Destiny 2, but it could be tied to Bungie’s promise to bring the sequel closer to the original game.

Not only Destiny 2 is about to receive a fair portion of new content this November, but also next-gen consoles are premiering during the very same period. Luckily, Bungie is hard at work preparing appropriate updates for its MMO shooter to take advantage of the newest pieces of technology. Both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will receive enhanced versions of the game at the beginning of December. Destiny 2 will be treated to a native 4K support along with other visual improvements including higher framerates.

Considering that the leaked images are stored on PlayStation servers, there’re little to no reasons not to believe that they are real. Additionally, Bungie cautiously approaches the lore of Destiny 2, which clearly means that there’s nothing random or meaningless on the supposed artwork. The question is if it indeed reflects upcoming changes - or it’s been abandoned during the course of development. The answer is coming sooner rather than later - and hopefully, fans will be delighted to learn the truth.
