There is so much to see at the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas that it can be hard to know where to begin. If you're looking for a little bit of excitement, you'd do well to stop and check out the Ehang personal drone.

It's large enough to carry one passenger to a predetermined destination. Simply punch your coordinates into the accompanying smartphone app, climb in, and let the miracle of modern technology whisk you away on a chair of pure science.

If you're sick and tired of boring drones that don't do much more than take photos, the Ehang drone might be for you. However, there are a few caveats. As thrilling as it might be to fly effortlessly over the tops of the homes of all your haters, the company behind the drone is still working out some of the kinks.

Those "kinks" are reason enough for concern that, sadly, no one will be getting a test flight during CES 2016. In the press release sent out by Ehang, it promises the drone's fail-safe system "automatically evaluates the damage" and decides whether or not the drone "will need to land to ensure its passenger’s safety."

In addition to a few safety concerns, there's also a slight problem with FAA approval, as the drone currently has none.

While there were no test flights being given at CES, we did try out an actual car used to control a video game, so it hasn't been a total wash.

Still, the drone looks pretty cool and the thrill of whizzing through the skies at the whims of a computer program makes this the most thrilling and dangerous piece of gear at CES 2016.
