We now have a rough idea of what the canceled Star Wars Episode VII game might have looked like.

The almost-a-game’s existence was first revealed within the pages of Rogue Leaders: The Story of LucasArts. Besides telling stories about many of the defunct developer’s projects, it included a logo for Episode VII — subtitled Shadows of the Sith. No other information was given.

Now, Cinelinx is reporting details on the game via LucasArts creative director Haden Blackman.

Shadows of the Sith was one of more than two dozen proposed Star Wars games being tossed around in 2004. The basic concept existed long before the true, cinematic Episode VII, The Force Awakens, and had nothing to do with its similarly named counterpart.

Blackman explained that Shadows of the Sith would have put you in the robes of “an adult Ben Skywalker.” That is, the Ben Skywalker of the non-canon Star Wars expanded universe. In that expanded content — now labelled Legends by Disney — Ben was the son of Luke Skywalker and one Mara Jade.

In Shadows of the Sith Ben would unleash “new Force powers never-before-seen in games or movies,” similar to the eventually released Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. In fact, Blackman states that elements of Shadows of the Sith and other incomplete projects were pooled into that game.

The Shadows of the Sith name was then used as a code word for ideas set in the "far future" of Star Wars, such as the Boba Fett game Star Wars: 1313.

Now, with The Force Awakens and its upcoming sequels setting a new series of events for Star Wars, the rest of the game’s concept will likely never see the light of day.
