Call of Duty remains the biggest franchise in the world of video games, and the team that's in charge of it at Activision is ready to confirm that the first reveal about this year's installment in the first-person shooter series will be delivered during the E3 2016 event in June.

Scott Lowe, a communications manager at the company, is not willing to offer any details about the experience, but he does mention a partnership with Sony, which means that the current collaboration between the two companies will extend into 2017.
At the moment, the Call of Duty title coming in the fall of this year does not have an official name but fans already know that development duties are handled by the team at Infinity Ward.
Activision also says that it does not plan to have an official booth on the floor of E3 2016, which casts an interesting light on the future of the trade show given that Electronic Arts has already announced that it will hold a series of separate events focused on fan engagement.
According to the publisher January broke records when it comes to the number of players who are still engaged with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, continuing a trend of improved engagement that started in November and December of last year.
Activision adds, "we launched the first series of events in the Call of Duty World League’s Challenge Division, which gives amateur players outside of the Pro Division the chance to compete and qualify for the Call of Duty Championship. More than 300 teams from around the world competed in the tournament play. The Challenge Division adds to the exciting gameplay happening each week with the Pro Division."
Fans of the series will be at the center of a new community event that will take place during the fall in conjunction with the finals for the first season of the Call of Duty Championship.

Three DLC packs are coming to Black Ops 3 Activision is not offering more details about the future of the series because it wants to keep the fan community focused on the present and already offered content like Awakening, the first piece of major DLC coming to the most recent installment.
Developer Treyarch is working on three more packages for the first-person shooter, which will include the usual four new maps for multiplayer battles as well as a new episode of the cooperative zombie campaign.
The next one, which has not yet been officially revealed, is expected to arrive before the end of spring, offered initially on the PlayStation 4 and the PC and the Xbox One about one month later.
Between the DLC deliveries, Treyarch will also continue to offer gameplay focused updates to improve balance and to make sure that it is relatively easy for gamers to get a match.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has managed to generate a record-breaking amount of money, more than 550 million dollars (510 million Euro) during its first three days on the market.
