The development team at Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision are at the moment working on a major new update for their recently launched Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which is designed to deal with some of the biggest issues that the community has been reporting since the shooter was first introduced on November 4.

A Twitter message coming from Michael Condrey, one of the co-leaders of the team working on the title, explains that the update will be delivered on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4.

The aspects of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare that will be addressed include weapon balancing, the way ranked play works, and exploits with the maps that are part of the shooter.

Sledgehammer Games also plans to make optimizations to the performance of the title and will fix some of the problems that affect how spawning works.

At the moment, it’s unknown when the studio plans to deliver the new big update for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and it’s unclear if they will allow the community to get a full look at the patch notes before so that they can comment and maybe suggest some changes.

Since the first-person shooter was first introduced, the team has been careful to communicate with its players and to move as fast as possible to tweak the game based on their experiences.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and the problem of longevity

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is already the biggest entertainment launch of the year, according to Activision, making more money on release than any other movie or album that was delivered in 2014.

But the company is more ambitious with its flagship franchise and wants to make sure that gamers who love the multiplayer component will have plenty of new content to experience during the first half of next year.

Four full downloadable content packs are planned, all of them set to arrive earlier for those playing on the Xbox One and the 360.

Havok is the name of the first piece of DLC for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that it will introduce the Exo Zombies mode in addition to new maps and more weapons.

In December, those who pre-ordered or got the Season Pass can use an entirely new energy file, called the AE4.

Sledgehammer Games is also planning to deliver more exclusive content for fans and weekends with double experience.
