Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare might have not delivered the pre-order numbers that publisher Activision was expecting, but the first-person shooter has managed to have a very solid launch week and is at the moment the best-selling title in the United Kingdom video game chart.

For the week that ended on November 8, the title created by Sledgehammer Games managed to slot into first place, something that the franchise has done for the past few years, and it seems that a lot of gamers are already deeply engaged with the multiplayer side.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare benefited from the fact that it was offered for hardcore fans on November 3 via the all new Day Zero Edition, which is designed to also offer long-time players double the usual experience.

It will be interesting to see whether the experience can retain its position in the long term or it will perform worse than previous titles in the franchise, like Ghosts and Black Ops 2.

FIFA 15 might no longer be at the top, but it has managed to drop down only one position in order to reach second place for the seven-day period, as shown by the chart from UKIE, and the football sim has a long tail, which means that it will continue to sell well into 2015.

The last place on the podium belongs to another new entry, Football Manager 2015 from Sports Interactive and SEGA.

The title allows gamers to control the destiny of their favorite football club and offers a more cerebral experience than FIFA 15.
The best of the rest

Fourth place in the United Kingdom is occupied by Alien: Isolation, which has surprisingly managed to come back this week and generate some solid sales.

The survival horror title is followed by Destiny, the social shooter from Bungie and Activision, which also managed to gain one position.

The PlayStation Edition of indie hit Minecraft is in sixth place, followed by the Trap Team version of Slylanders, which shows that mixes of toys and video games can still reach a wide audience.

Sunset Overdrive, the shooter that Insomniac Games and Microsoft launched only on the Xbox One, has seen the biggest drop of the week, as it has moved from second to eighth.

The Evil Within from Tango Gameworks and Bethesda is in ninth.

The Xbox Edition of Minecraft is the title which closes down the United Kingdom top ten.
