Bungie has revealed a list of features that are set to arrive in Destiny, its online-only first-person shooter, in the following weeks and months as part of different updates and patches.

Destiny finally launched back in September, and while millions of shooter fans were looking forward to the new title after some pretty good alpha and beta stages, they weren't that delighted with the final product. Many complained about the lackluster story, the repetitive gameplay, or the lack of fun activities, and developer Bungie started collecting all that feedback.

The studio pledged to improve things, and with different updates, not to mention various in-game events, things started getting better.

New improvements are coming to Destiny

Now, while it's preparing to debut the first actual expansion for Destiny, in the form of The Dark Below, Bungie confirms on its blog that quite a few major improvements are set to debut in the game as part of upcoming updates.

"We’re inbound with several bundles of joy in our hold. They’ll land in the weeks to come. Some of them will give everyone new things to do and earn. Some of them will prepare the world you’ve conquered for some new arrivals, and push the boundaries. Your level of engagement will be up to you.

Each of us finds our own level in Destiny," Bungie Community Manager David Dague says.

Some of the features that are set to appear soon have already been confirmed by Bungie in the last few weeks, such as the ability to voice chat with matchmade teammates, better and more interesting exotic weapons, great legendary gear, and other such things.

All-new features are also coming

Besides those, many all-new improvements are also scheduled to debut in Destiny. These include shaders for player gear, ways to preview items before spending glimmer on them, adjustments to certain zones and multiplayer arenas.

Bungie also mentions a better economy and a few other refinements, such as a more generous Cryptarach, but refrains from offering all the details.

"Those are the broad strokes. More detail is on the way. There will be Dev Notes and Patch Notes and love notes on our forum to explain what we mean, why we’re doing this, how it will all go down, and why we think it’s awesome. For now, we just wanted to let you know we’ve been thinking about you, and working on some game changers we hope you’ll enjoy," Dague adds.

Expect to hear more about Destiny's update process in the following weeks.
