Activision Blizzard has quite a few successful games out on the market, most of them focusing on the multiplayer aspect. World of Warcraft, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm bring most of the company's revenue.

A few days ago a report coming from a Yahoo Contributor citing an unnamed source close to Blizzard offered us a glimpse on what's happening into the company.

One of the information leaked earlier this week claimed that Activision's executives have “low expectations” about Heroes of the Storm and that this game might reach among the top 10 MOBA games.

Unfortunately, the insider also stated that there's a high chance that many of the senior staff that is now working on Heroes of the Storm will be laid off after the game is released.

Despite rumors, expect more maps and heroes to be added as well

However, in an interview for PCGamer, Dustin Browder, Game Director for Heroes of the Storm and Starcrat 2, seems very optimistic about the game and judging from what he says it doesn't seems that Blizzard might shrink the development team.

For example, he says that his team plans to “keep adding heroes forever until we get sick of it.” Heroes of the Storm has 33 heroes available up until now, but the game is still in beta.

Browder also confirmed that they now have an additional 6 number of heroes in testing, so we can expect those to be added before the game gets released.

On the matter of maps, Blizzard's official also said that they will add even more maps to those 6 that are now available in the beta.

Blizzard has started recently to allow more people into the Heroes of the Storm by offering lots of beta keys through giveaways and they will continue to do that until the game's release. Hopefully, the game will pick up a considerable number of players until launch.
