Black Ops 4 Zombies is getting a lot easier with new update
After a weekend with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PC, things are running pretty smoothly – aside from a troublingly mysterious set of crashes. The latest update hasn’t fixed them, but the developers are on the case and “multiple fixes” are coming in the next major patch. But if you’re playing the game without issue, know this: Zombies is about to get significantly easier.
Player health in Zombies has been boosted by 50 points across casual, normal, and hardcore difficulty, which will make you a whole lot more survivable when taking on the undead hordes. Shield repair and replacement is getting cheaper, and there are further balance adjustments to Hellhounds, Tiger attacks, and the Hellfire weapon.
You can read more details on the changes with the full patch notes, but the biggest issues for PC gamers are the crashes. In a separate post, Treyarch recommends (as always) getting your drivers up-to-date, and making sure that the GeForce Experience overlay if you’re seeing freezes during the intro movie. Disabling third-party applications in general may also help with those crashes as the game boots.
Beenox, the support developer on the PC version of Black Ops 4, is at work on further PC fixes. The crashes don’t seem to have a common thread – anecdotal reports highlight causes ranging from certain types of camo to specific uses of ADS – but the developers say they “are planning multiple fixes for our incoming patch next week.”
