Irrational Games is to 'wind down', it has been revealed.

Co-founder Ken Levine revealed in an open-letter on the studio's website that he will "refocus... [his] energy" by taking 15 existing personnel and starting a "smaller" studio.
The studio will focus on "narrative-driven" and "highly replayable" digital games for a core audience, with a "direct relationship" with fans.

The closure will occur after the completion of BioShock Infinite's second part of 'Burial at Sea' DLC, with publisher 2K Games to continue developing the BioShock franchise.

As well as BioShock Infinite, Irrational Games is known for its work on the original BioShock, System Shock 2, Freedom Force, SWAT 4 and Tribes: Vengeance.
