Battlefield V finds itself during the second chapter of its Tides of War live service. Titled Lightning Strikes, it has brought two updates' worth of fixes and additions, both on the weapon and vehicle side of things, to DICE's World War 2 first-person shooter.

The next step in Battlefield V's Lightning Strikes chapter is the Hold the Line event which kicks off tomorrow, lasting for two weeks.

Battlefield V Chapter 2: Lightning Strikes Event

Battlefield V's Hold the Line event will be active between January 31 and February 13. Focusing on the Breakthrough and Frontlines modes, it brings two Weekly Challenges that are "best described as challenge trees with sub-tasks, where you choose which branches to climb".

Completing these sub-tasks grants Chapter XP, while completing their final tasks rewards players with the M1922 MMG for the Support class and the Final Countdown headgear, available for all classes.

What are the Battlefield V Hold the Line Weekly Challenges?

The first Weekly Challenge in Battlefield V's Hold the Line event runs between January 31 and February 6, revolving around the Breakthrough mode. As a refresher, the mode starts with the defending team controlling all sectors on a map. Attackers must capture all points in a sector and push the defenders back one sector at a time. Below, you'll find the sub-tasks you must do in order to obtain the Final Countdown headgear.

• Breakthrough: Play three rounds of Breakthrough
• Break the Objective: Capture ten objectives in Breakthrough
• Keep ‘em Up: Revive 20 teammates in Breakthrough
• True Blitz: Capture an objective within two minutes after spawning in Breakthrough
• Take it Back: Re-capture five objectives as defender in Breakthrough
• Raider: Win a round of Breakthrough as the attacker
• Protector: Win a round of Breakthrough as the defender
• Crucible: Kill 25 enemies in objective areas

The second Weekly Challenge in Battlefield V's Hold the Line event runs between February 7 – February 13, focusing on the Frontlines mode. Frontlines has both teams fighting over one flag at any given time in a tug-of-war style battle. Conquering enough flags will eventually push the enemy back to their base, where you must plant and defend explosives, much like in Battlefield's Rush mode. Here are the sub-tasks you must do to get your hands on the M1922 MMG for the Support class.

• Frontlines: Play a round of Frontlines
• Ordnance Expert: Arm or defuse a bomb in Frontlines
• Keep Moving: Capture eight objectives in Frontlines
• Lock and Load: Kill 15 enemies with a self-loading rifle
• Full Auto: Kill 15 enemies with an MMG
• Gain Ground: Win a round of Frontlines
• Dashing Death: Kill eight enemies while you are moving
• Frontal Assault: Capture three objectives in a round of Frontlines
• Spray and Pray: Kill 15 enemies with a submachine gun
• Do Your Part: Earn a score of 25,000 in Frontlines

You'll encounter forks in the road while navigating these sub-tasks, allowing you a certain amount of choice. If you're in the mood for further reading, you can get more details on the Hold the Line event from the post on EA's website.
