DICE and Electronic Arts confirm that, until December 9, the Battlefield 4 Battlefest Season 2 celebrations are underway, with new giveaways, events, community missions, and much more, for both old and new fans.

Battlefield 4 made its debut over one year ago, and since then, it's been a rocky road for the first-person shooter, as many different bugs and issues plagued it, despite all sorts of updates and patches coming from developer DICE.

In order to keep fans engaged and make up for all the different problems, the two companies organized quite a lot of player-oriented festivities and now, after rolling out the absolutely massive Fall update a few weeks ago, the Battlefest Season 2 celebration is kicking off.

Battlefield 4 gets Battlefest Season 2

Just like the first edition of the event, which took place back in July, Battlefest celebrates Battlefield 4 players by offering all sorts of different rewards, both for their patience as well as for their dedication to the game, as their suggestions and feedback made the Fall update so impressive and is helping the last expansion, Final Stand, get even better.

"Battlefest is our way of thanking Battlefield 4 fans, old and new, for all the support. Your feedback has been invaluable to us; we recently deployed the highly appreciated Fall Update based on your suggestions, and Battlefield 4 Final Stand is being perfected thanks to your contributions in the Community Test Environment. Of course, the DICE studios will continue to improve the Battlefield 4 experience going forward," the studio explains on the official website.

A special double XP weekend is already in effect, which lasts until November 10. More festivities are coming in the form of community missions, and each Saturday, starting with today, November 8, each player is going to receive a Gold Battlepack when they log into the game.

Battlefield 4 players old and new can enjoy the festivities

Besides offering great rewards for veteran players, DICE also confirms that Battlefield 4 is now available for free on the PC platform through the Origin Game Time initiative, allowing players to spend as much time as they want inside the shooter across seven days.

A special event calendar has been set up and you can bet that even more events and goodies are coming to all Battlefield 4 players throughout Battlefest Season 2, which lasts until December 9. As such, expect to see more announcements from DICE in the following weeks.
