Superheroes and comic book characters are some of the most iconic figures of American pop culture. Both DC and Marvel have tons of fictional characters who are a regular part of the lexicon, and have remained through decades of changes within the comic book world. And because we're so used to seeing certain characters pop up, we can often forget just how long its been since their original inception. Case in point: Wonder Woman, who is celebrating her 75th birthday today. And to celebrate, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League director Zack Snyder has given us a new image of the Amazonian herself.

To celebrate Wonder Woman's milestone, Zack Snyder posted a new image of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman to his Facebook page. Check out the awesomeness below.

Diana Prince looks pretty great for 75, right?

The above image seems to come from a rather climactic or action packed moment of Zack Snyder's upcoming Justice League. Diana Prince is surrounded by fire and brimstone, and has a look of determination on her. Whatever battle is happening, she seems to have thus far gotten out of it unscathed. Although Wonder Woman has so much strength and near invulnerability, so that's not really saying much. She didn't even get so much as a fat lip from her battle with Doomsday at the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so she can clearly take some punishment during a fight.

Zack Snyder's critics should breathe a sigh of relief with the above image. Although it doesn't give us a clue as to the action of Justice League, one can clearly see how the superhero team up movie will differ from Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While those first installments of the DC Extended Universe (as well as most of Snyder's resume) had muted colors, Justice League looks utterly vibrant. While Wonder Woman is being backlit and therefore washed out in the above image, we can see the hue from the fire as well as her costume which are far more vibrant than the other two flicks.

The Justice League trailer contained tons of bright colors, as well as an overall tone that doesn't feel quite as morose. Learning from the triumphs of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, humor is being introduced to the DCEU. Indeed, the banter between Batman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash was one of the high points of the trailer.

While Wonder Woman has reached her 75th birthday, she's only recently come to live on the silver screen. Gal Gadot's interpretation of the character was one of the highlights of Batman v Superman, and her solo movie will be in theaters before we know it.

Wonder Woman will fly into theaters on June 2nd, 2017.
