Clint Eastwood's Next Movie Revealed: Story Details & 2 Big Stars

Clint Eastwood’s next film project Juror No. 2 is revealed, with two major stars reported to be attached. The 92-year-old Eastwood’s last film Cry Macho, a project he’d been developing for years, was released in 2021 amid COVID and disappointingly failed to turn a profit. The movie’s failure indeed led to questions from new Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, who reportedly was upset that the movie was ever greenlit in the first place, and also reportedly questioned the studio's ongoing relationship with Eastwood.

Reports that Eastwood’s relationship with WBD might be on shaky ground after Cry Macho naturally led to doubts about the legendary actor-director’s future in film, but those doubts can now be put to rest, as Eastwood is reported to have a new project in the works at WB (via The Wrap). Entitled Juror No. 2, the film is described as a legal drama centered on a juror in a murder trial who begins to suspect they caused the victim’s death, and the prosector conducting the trial. Eastwood’s film reportedly is recruiting a pair of big names in Toni Collette and Nicholas Hoult to head up the cast.

Juror No. 2 Will Likely Be Eastwood’s Last Film

Eastwood was a little-known TV and film performer when, in the 1960s, he hooked up with legendary Spaghetti Western filmmaker Sergio Leone for the “Man With No Name” trilogy, a run of movies that decidedly made Eastwood’s name as a Western star. Eastwood then went on to star in a string of hit Hollywood films across several decades, while also establishing himself as a brand-name director, going on to win Oscars for his films Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby.

Eastwood’s directorial output in recent years has become more a study in perseverance than quality however, as he’s continued making films at a reasonable clip into his 90s, but with diminishing returns both creatively and financially. After the failure of Cry Macho, it indeed seemed that Eastwood’s time was finally up. That Eastwood will get one more chance to direct a film after all may seem surprising, but perhaps it shouldn’t be, given his legendary status in Hollywood, not to mention the value of his long-standing relationship with WB. However, considering his advanced age and sagging box office prospects in recent years, it’s reasonable to think that Juror No. 2 will indeed mark Eastwood’s swan song. However things play out from here, it has certainly been an amazing career for the one-time uncredited supporting player in the B-movie Revenge of the Creature.

Cool to hear Clint Eastwood has a new movie with Toni Collette and Nicholas Hoult. Could be his last one though, given his age.
Still, he's had an awesome career. Hoping it does well!
