A new viral advertising campaign for X-Men: Days Of Future Past hints that Magneto could be implicated in the killing of JFK.

This week marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of former US President John F. Kennedy, who was shot on November 22, 1963 during a trip to Texas. The video released online by X-Men: Days Of Future Past lays out an alternate history timeline and suggests that Magneto, played by Michael Fassbender, was responsible for the politician's death by using his ability to manipulate metal to alter the trajectory of Lee Harvey Oswald's second bullet. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to watch the video, while there is also a full video about the 'conspiracy' at TheBentBullet website.

Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men: Days Of Future Past boasts a massive cast featuring nearly every familiar face from the previous five X-Men movies. Fassbende and James McAvoy will both appear, and will also be joined by Jennifer Lawrence, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Ellen Page and Anna Paquin. The full cast convened at San Diego Comic-Con in July and Singer shared a memorable photo from the event.

An official synopsis for the film was previously released, stating: "The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. The beloved characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past - to save our future."

X-Men: Days Of Future Past opens in UK cinemas on May 22, 2014 and a day later on May 23, 2014 in the US.
