The folks at 20th Century Fox are so sure that moviegoers are going to shell out a ton of money on director Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past” that they’re already committed to another installment of the franchise. Feel free to dance around the room as soon as no one’s looking. We won’t judge you.

Here you go: “X-Men: Apocalypse” is presently slated to hit the big screen on May 27, 2016. Although you’ll have to wait two years in-between films, at least you know when you need to make arrangements for that all-important midnight screening. Let your boss know right now before someone else beats you to the cinematic punch.

Although details about the sequel are few and far between, it’s believed that the motion picture will probably draw inspiration from the “Age of Apocalypse” comic book storyline that ran during the 90s. Set in an alternate timeline, the tale follows a different version of the X-Men led by Magneto in post-apocalypse America.

Of course, Singer and company could make some big changes to the tale before it finally arrives in theaters. While you’re waiting to see how this all works out, be sure to check out “X-Men: Days of Future Past” at your local multiplex on May 23, 2014. Check out the trailer again. And again. As always, it’s embedded below.
