X Factor fans mocked Robbie Williams during tonight’s live show after he “missed the memo” and didn’t wear white like his fellow judges.

His wife Ayda Field, Simon Cowell and Louis Tomlinson all chose chic white outfits for tonight’s episode, while Robbie chose a black t-shirt and a leopard print top.

Fans of the hit ITV singing competition teased him mercilessly online and said it looked as though he’d missed out of their group chat.

One tweeted: “I think Robbie missed the memo that the judges were gonna wear White!”

Another viewer joked: “@TheXFactor judges: Okay let's all where white and not tell Robbie!”

While a third said: No one gave Robbie the all-white outfit memo.”

Since joining this year’s judging panel with his wife Ayda, Robbie has proved a hit with viewers who’ve praised his “refreshing” and “funny” style.

Robbie, 44, is in charge of this year’s groups and has so far seen huge success in the competiton.

Tonight his group the LMA Choir wowed with their rendition of Tina Turner’s Proud Mary.

Danny Tetley failed to hit the mark though and left fans stunned with a bizarre on-stage rant about his fellow contestants.

As well as working on The X Factor, Robbie will be re-joining Take That as part of the band’s 30th anniversary celebrations in 2020.

The Sun exclusively revealed his plans for a surprise cameo and insiders confirmed the group would be coming together on The X Factor.

A source said: “Having Robbie on the panel has been a huge coup, but obviously backstage everyone has been talking about whether or not he’s going to sing at some point.

“It seems a shame to have one of the biggest pop stars on the planet sat there and not hear him, so they’ve been plotting a surprise for the end of the series.

“It’s a while since they got together and nobody is completely sure when it was going to happen for the anniversary so it’ll be a massive moment.”

The X Factor continues tonight on ITV.
