The Wizard World of Harry Potter is one of the most beloved fictional universes ever created. After all, it has everything that a child (or a person in touch with his or her inner child) could want -- from magic to crazy creatures to yes, even butterbeer. Universal Studios has capitalized on our collective love of Harry Potter for years, and the experience is about to get so much better with a brand new Christmas-themed update just in time for next holiday season.

It has officially been announced that Universal Studios Orlando is going to move forward with a new Christmas theme for its Wizard World of Harry Potter attractions. The massive undertaking will consist of four specific elements, starting with an overall aesthetic change to make the park feel like a winter wonderland, complete with garland and fake snow as far as the eye can see. Building off of that, the park will also use state of the art lighting techniques to light up its Hogwarts attraction. Moving away from Hogwarts, the Christmas theme for the Harry Potter attractions will also spill over into Diagon Alley, with special holiday food and entertainment selections adapted directly from the films.

At this point, all I want to know is whether or not the food options will include Christmas-themed Chocolate Frogs. I have waited my whole life for something like that. I need it, Universal!

The combination of Christmas and Harry Potter makes perfect sense for anyone familiar with the franchise. Although there's nothing inherent to the Harry Potter franchise that necessarily requires the massive holiday from a narrative point of view, Christmas has always played a role in some of the series' most endearing moments, as well as its greatest character-building sequences. Hogwarts at Christmas is a very distinct aesthetic that fans of the Wizard World have come to know and appreciate over the years, so the opportunity to actually immerse oneself in that beloved universe is obviously something that will appeal to longtime fans and newcomers alike.

You look like you could use some of that instantly endearing Harry Potter Christmas cheer in your life. Check out a classic Christmas scene from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone below for a better understanding of how the holiday plays into the overall tone and style of the franchise.

Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will begin later this year in November. As for the Harry Potter film franchise, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them 2 is currently slated to hit theaters on November 16, 2018. Here's everything that we currently know about the highly anticipated Wizard World sequel.
