Tom Holland made a huge impression on audiences when he debuted as Spider-Man during the events of Captain America: Civil War. Filling in the boots of talented actors like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, the young up-and-comer brilliantly held his own against most of Marvel's heavy hitters. The stage has officially been set for the Web Head to become an even bigger player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward, but what are the odds of him appearing Infinity War? According to Holland: it's not guaranteed, but it's possible. Holland explained:

It's all up in the air. I believe some sort of deal is in the mix, but I'm unclear as to what that deal is.

While speaking with Variety at the recent premiere of The Lost City of Z at the New York Film Festival, Tom Holland admitted that, while he is not necessarily confirmed for Infinity War, talks have already started. The folks at Marvel have started working on ways to potentially get him in on the action as the iconic spider themed hero in the next major team-up movie, but Holland himself hasn't really been kept up to speed regarding how those talks have progressed recently.

Despite the fact that we cannot confirm whether or not Tom Holland's Spider-Man will actually appear in Avengers: Infinity War, it still seems incredibly likely. Infinity War is the culmination of a massive Marvel Cinematic Universe story arc, and as such it would make plenty of sense for Marvel to bring every conceivable element into the fold. Peter Parker to lending a hand during the events of Captain America: Civil War, but not Infinity War wouldn't exactly make much sense.

Even if Tom Holland doesn't pop up to lend a helping hand during the battle against Thanos, we can rest easy knowing that there's plenty of him on the way. Not only will Spider-Man: Homecoming hit theaters next summer, but also all evidence seems to point towards Spider-Man as a new focal point of the MCU. We anticipate some major changes to this universe when Phase 4 rolls around, and one of those primary changes will likely involve Spider-Man becoming one of the most prominent heroes in the live-action Marvel universe. After all, actor like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans won't be able to play their respective roles forever; Marvel will need someone with acting chops and charisma to carry these films, and Tom Holland is that actor.

We will keep our fingers firmly crossed that Spider-Man will show up to face off against Thanos when Avengers: Infinity War finally debuts on May 4, 2018. Until then, make sure to check out Tom Holland as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man when Spider-Man: Homecoming swings its way into theaters on July 7, 2017.
