Collateral Beauty, an upcoming drama starring Will Smith and Helen Mirren, will open against Rogue One: A Star Wars Story later this year on December 16, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures announced today.

As The Hollywood Reporter states, Warner Bros. is expecting Collateral Beauty to "serve as counter-programming" to Rogue One -- much like the Tina Fey-Amy Poehler comedy Sisters set out to do last December against The Force Awakens.

Smith's latest tells the story of a tragedy that sends a New York ad man (Smith) into a downward spiral. In addition to Smith and Mirren, the cast includes Edward Norton, Michael Pena, and Naomie Harris. The script comes from Allan Loeb, with David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada) directing.

Collateral Beauty replaces Chicken Soup for the Soul on Warner Bros. release schedule; the film adaptation of the popular book series will now bow sometime in 2017.
