If you thought it wasn’t possible to hype Captain America: Civil War any more than it already had been, get ready for this. The stars of the movie, mostly Anthony Mackie, have been telling us for weeks just how great Civil War will be. Now, we’re hearing that not only is it great, it’s also going to be an emotional experience. We’d better get mentally prepared for this.

Marvel has been showing the nearly finished product in early screenings and the response has apparently been overwhelmingly positive. However, the thing that caught our eye most about Birth.Movies.Death’s recent discussion about Civil War screenings is the fact that the end of the movie is being described as "an emotional horror movie." It sounds like Captain America: Civil War will have some long-lasting consequences for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie will give both sides of the Civil War conflict -- Tony Stark and Steve Rogers -- solid reasoning for their beliefs, which will only drive home the divide that will exists between The Avengers.

This is probably the most interesting, and exciting thing about Captain America: Civil War. One of the possible problems that Marvel was going to have here was taking the concept of Civil War from the comics, a fight that had no "right" answer, and tell the entire story from the perspective of Captain America. It had the potential to make one side of the argument clearly the "good guys" while making the other side look more "evil" than they probably should. It sounds like Civil War will still do a good job of giving us Tony Stark’s perspective, even though the story isn’t told from his point of view.

The film also is being described as physically and emotionally brutal during its last act. We assume this is for the audience, as well as the characters. We’ve certainly heard rumors that not everybody is going to get out of Captain America: Civil War alive, which could be a big part of it. We’ve seen images of fallen comrades, and if it’s true that some Avengers will actually die, then you have to wonder where the story will go from there. How can one side forgive the other if people are seriously hurt, or killed, by one group or the other? Even if it isn’t intentional, that’s got to be hard to come back from.

The good news is that we’re only a couple of months away from the release of Captain America: Civil War. Very soon, we will see what all the hype is about. If the film truly lives up to everything that’s been said about it, then we’re incredibly excited, and a little bit worried, to see it all go down.
