Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them offered a new look into the world of Harry Potter, and fans got a look into the lives of American wizarding customs. While fans got to learn everything they could possibly want to know about how to mate with a magic rhino beast, the film didn't offer up too many details on the most tantalizing aspect of American magic: Ilvermorny School, the American version of Hogwarts. The school only got a name drop in the movie, but today we have just a bit more extra details for you. Check out this deleted from Fantastic Beasts wherein some of the characters sing the Ilvermorny School song.

Okay, so maybe it's not the biggest or coolest Ilvermorny related thing they could have done. But at least it's catchy, right?

This YouTube clip is a deleted scene from last year's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The clip is an extended cut of a scene from the film wherein Newt Scamander and company have a quiet moment to themselves to decompress inside of Newt's magical briefcase/zoo. Picking up right after Queenie uses her Legilimency (a fancy magic word for mind reading) on Newt and learns about his past relationship with Leta Lestrange, she tells him that he needs a giver, not a taker. Cue Tina's entrance and the two cover by saying that they were talking about school. This peaks Jacob's interest, and asks if there's a wizarding school in America. Both Tina and Queenie are graduates of Ilvermorny, while Newt is from Hogwarts. This sparks a cute rivalry that essentially ends right there in the movie.

The clip takes it a step further and reveals that Tina Queenie showed their school spirit by singing the Ilvermorny school song. It's a cute song and moment, but it's easy to see why it was cut; it doesn't really add up to much or reveal anything new about any character. All in all, it's pretty expendable, but a nice little bit of world building. Plus, you know at least some fans are going to learn that song word for word.

As far as the song is concerned, there weren't too many hints or secrets my Harry Potter attuned ears were able to pick up on. The biggest detail from the song is that it briefly addresses the origins of Ilvermorny by mentioning it's founder, Morrigan.

Isolt "Morrigan" Sayre was the co-founder of Ilvermorny. She fled from Ireland to hide from her muggle hating aunt Gormlaith Gaunt, a dark witch who killed Morrigan's parents because she felt they weren't raising her correctly (read: to hate everything). Long story short, Morrigan fled to America, married a muggle, adopted some wizard kids, and together they formed what would one day be America's prominent school for witches and wizards.

There's bound to be more extra content from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them when the film hits home release on March 28, 2017.
