The Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk anthology is currently in production on season eight.

Despite co-creator Ryan Murphy's move to Netflix, his FX series, American Horror Story, isn't going away anytime soon.

FX CEO John Landgraf tells The Hollywood Reporter that he has already handed out a 10th season renewal for the anthology that ranks as one of the cable network's most valued and most watched series.

American Horror Story is currently in production on season eight, which features the long-awaited crossover from previous incarnations "Murder House" and "Coven." FX previously renewed the series for two seasons, taking it through season nine in 2019. With the 10th season order, the series will now go into 2020.

The renewal puts to rest any questions about the future of FX's franchise program after Murphy sent shock waves through the industry with his decision to exit his longtime home at 20th Century Fox Television — which produces AHS — for a $300 million deal at Netflix.

Murphy is FX's most prolific producer, and has delivered hits for FX including AHS, American Crime Story, Pose and Feud. The AHS pickup comes as the planned second season of Feud — about Prince Charles and Princess Diana — has been scrapped at FX after issues with the script (and after it had already been cast). Landgraf told THR on Friday that he hoped that Feud would still return at some point to the cable network.

In terms of the rest of Murphy's FX series, Pose has been renewed for a second season. Meanwhile, the third season of American Crime Story remains a mystery due to itsstalled"Katrina" plot and its scrapped Monica Lewinsky season.
