Given the success of the Inbetweeners films, you'd forgive the people behind them from just jumping into another. Instead, writer/directors Iain Morris and Damon Beesley are setting up an original new comedy, Festival, to star Inbetweeners veteran Joe Thomas alongside Jemaine Clement, Claudia O'Doherty, Hammed Animashaun, Hannah Tointon and Kurt Yaeger.

Having worked on the script for their Fudge Park company, Morris is directing the film, with Beesley executive producing. They've already started rolling the cameras, with the plot finding a group of students graduating and heading, as the title might suggest, to a music festival. There, they'll fall in love with music and mud.

"I’m delighted to be making this film with my Inbetweeners partners Film4 and Entertainment," says Morris. "Going to a music festival is a quintessential British rite of passage just like a lads' holiday or backpacking, so it seemed like a natural fit for me to try and find the humor and fun in festivals." The film should be in UK cinemas next summer, but hopefully you won't have to wear wellies to watch it.
