Twilight fans will be thrilled to know that the first film installment of the romantic fantasy saga will be back in theaters for two days only in celebration of its 10th anniversary. Based on Stephanie Meyer's novel of the same name, the movie was directed by Catherine Hardwicke and written by Melissa Rosenberg. It catapulted Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to stardom playing the star-crossed lovers, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, respectively.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, fans of books dug it, raking almost more than $390 million at the global box office with a measly budget of $37 million. The property proved to be profitable for Summit Entertainment that it kicked-off the five-part franchise with the last one, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 hitting theaters in 2012. Now, fans can relive the magic of the beginning of Edward and Bella's love story on the big screen when Twilight returns to theaters later this year.

Fathom Events and Summit announced (hat tip CBR) the first of the five Twilight movies is heading back to theaters for two days only this October to celebrate the film's 10th anniversary. 450 movie theaters nationwide will be once again screening the supernatural romance film on Sunday, October 21 (7 pm local time) and Tuesday, October 23 (2 pm and 7 pm local time). Aside from the main feature, the audience will also be treated with a special introductory message from Hardwicke. It will include an exclusive sneak peek of the brand-new special feature "Twilight Tour…10 Years Later" which will be included in the upcoming Twilight 4K Ultra HD home entertainment (plus Blu-ray and Digital) that will be available on October 23 as well. Meanwhile, all five movies from the saga will also be re-released with new collectible artwork on Blu-ray Combo Pack (plus DVD and Digital).

The special Twilight screening is the first from the Fathom Spotlight series, a brand new event that will bring contemporary blockbusters, modern classics and fan-favorite film back on the big screen in their enhanced digital versions. “Twilight was a once-in-a-generation supernatural love story that became a pop-culture turning point for teens and teens-at-heart. Fathom Events is thrilled to be celebrating the movie’s 10th anniversary with Summit Entertainment by presenting it on the big screen this October,” Fathom Events VP of Studio Relations Tom Lucas said. Those who are interested in nabbing tickets for the upcoming return of Twilight on the big screen can head to www.FathomEvents.com or any participating theater chains.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' Iron Man is also coming back on the big screen as part of Marvel Studios 10th Anniversary Film Festival where all 20 film installments from the famed superhero franchise will also be returning to theaters in IMAX beginning on August 30 until September 6.
