Matthew J.Weiss' new documentary tells the story of Welles Crowther, who gave his life saving others.

Verdi Productions’ documentary Man in Red Bandana, which begins a limited rollout Sept. 6 in New York City, tells the story of Welles Crowther, a 24-year-old civilian who gave his life saving others at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
Crowther was an equities trader working in the South Tower of the World Trade Center, who, in the wake of the first plane hitting the WTC, led two groups of survivors to safety before heading back up into the building to attempt to save others. He died during the building collapse, and though those he saved did not know his name, he gradually became known as “the man in the red bandana." The code name was derived since he covered his nose and mouth with a bandana that he always carried, following his father’s example. After his body was recovered in 2002, his family learned from survivors that Crowther had played a role in saving their lives.
Matthew J. Weiss wrote and directed the documentary, which was produced by Chad A. Verdi and Joshua Sason with Michelle Verdi, Neil Cortel and Tom DeNucci serving as executive producers. Gwyneth Paltrow serves as the film's narrator.
The doc is now set to play theatrically in 28 locations acorss 16 states with one-week runs booked in such cities as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
