Paramount has set release dates for its 2017, 2018, and 2019 Transformers films.

According to Variety, Transformers 5—directed by Michael Bay—will open on June 23, 2017, placing it against Wonder Woman. Transformers 6 is set for June 8, 2018, which is the same date selected for Godzilla 2. And finally, Transformers 7 is marked for release on June 28, 2019, currently with no competition.

Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Walberg is expected to return alongside Bay, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura set as producer. Bay reported in January that Transformers 5 would be his last as director.

Oscar-winner Akiva Goldsman was originally slated to write Transformers 5, but is instead leading its "writers room," an approach to fleshing out a franchise that's historically been more prominent in television. The idea is to draw inspiration from Transformers lore, figuring out what's next for the expanded universe.
