After months of speculation, there is finally some confirmation on the official name of the newest Transformers sequel. Taking a page out of the newest Avengers sequel, the newest piece in the alien robot franchise is Transformers 4: Age of Extinction.
Unlike the films before it, Age of Extinction is sporting an entirely new cast led by Mark Wahlberg.
The rumor going around is that the plot of the story is going to entail a mechanic and his daughter making a discovery that is going to bring the Autobots and the Decepticons, as well as a paranoid government official, down on them.
There have also been many rumors going around that the Dinobots would be playing a major role in the film. Well, according to the Mirror UK, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura told the Beijing news during an interview that those rumors may be more than just mere rumors.
I cannot disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the arrival of the Dinobots will give the audience a lot to be excited about. The world’s coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including Chinese vehicles, so whether you are a car enthusiast or not, it will be a feast for the eyes.”
It will be interesting to see how big of a role the Dinobots actually play in the film. It would definitely put a new spin on things, and open up a number of possibilities for the future of the franchise.
Transformers 4: Age of Extinction is scheduled to hit theaters in the U.S. on June 27, 2014
