FX Networks executives have announced actor and comedian Tracy Morgan will star in an unnamed comedy pilot written by Jordan Peele (Key and Peele) and John Carcieri (Eastbound & Down). Morgan will serve as executive producer along with Eric Tannenbaum (Two and a Half Men) and Joel Zadak (Key and Peele).

The show will follow a career criminal as he's reintroduced into a "society that long ago left him behind," after he's released from a 15-year prison sentence. Morgan—presumably the "man whose only expertise is making grilled cheese with an iron"—must reintegrate into a society that values the internet, political correctness, and self-driving cars. Production is "tentatively set" to begin this summer.

Nick Grad, president of original programming for FX, called the Morgan/Peele collaboration "an unbeatable combination," expressing his excitement at the "exceptional comics joining forces with a great team of writers and producers" for the pilot.

Morgan returned to TV in October to host Saturday Night Live. The SNL alum faced a life-threatening brain injury after a tragic car crash in 2014. There were reports that Morgan would never perform again, but the actor and comedian is proving those wrong.
