TNT has canceled Dallas after three seasons. The announcement was posted on the show's official Facebook page, which is kind of weird, but I'm rolling with it. The descendant of one of the soapiest soaps that ever soaped, the contemporary "continuation" of the original '80s series premiered in 2012 to just shy of 7 million viewers, which is respectable!

But then ratings declined steadily with each passing season, and the now series finale—which aired Monday, September 22—brought in only 1.7 million viewers.

Dallas Original Recipe aired on CBS from 1978 to 1991 and starred Larry Hagman as lead character J.R. Ewing. Hagman then reprised the role of J.R. in the new TNT series, appearing regularly until 2012, when he died of complications due to leukemia. His death occurred halfway through the filming of Season 2 and was eventually written into the show.
