Not content with a rebooted Terminator trilogy, Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures plan to return the rejuvenated franchise to television with a series that will debut in conjunction with the first film in 2015.

Deadline reports the project will be written and executive produced by frequent collaborators Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller (Thor, X-Men: First Class), who also worked on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier, who are writing the upcoming movie, will also executive produce.

According to the website, the TV series will follow a critical moment from 1984′s Terminator, but going in a different direction than the rebooted trilogy. As the features and TV show progress, the two narratives will intersect. Paramount Pictures, which has partnered with Skydance and Annapurna on the new trilogy, won’t be involved with the television project.

The four-movie Terminator franchise has grossed more than $1 billion worldwide.
