The Peter Parker from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has several suits on display in a new image. While Tom Holland is breathing new life into Spider-Man as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony wants to strike while the iron is hot. That's why Venom is coming out later this year, but it isn't the only Spidey film hitting theaters. An animated movie starring Miles Morales is going to be released in December, and writers/producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are going to tackle one of the most wild concepts possible.

As evident by the film's title, Into the Spider-Verse will tell a story in a world where the entire multiverse is at their disposal. In the comics, this event brought countless versions of Spider-Man from different Earths to band together to save the day. Even though Miles is the center of this version of the film's story, an older Peter Parker is going to be featured as well - and his experience shows in a new image.

Sony released a new image from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as part of National Spider-Man Day. The image shows Miles (voiced by Shameik Moore) looking at a few of Peter Parker's Spider-Man suits. The one he is directly eyeing in the photo is the classic look Spidey's had for decades, but the other two costumes tease Parker's years of adventures, such as battles with Electro and even participating in a mega-event like Secret Wars.

The suit on the left is Spider-Man Electro-Proof suit, which he's used to fight Electro before in the comics. The suit first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #425 and allows Peter to resist some of Electro's powers. The one on the right is Spidey's suit he wore during Secret Wars as part of a covert mission he was sent on by S.H.I.E.L.D. Whether or not the Peter Parker in Into the Spider-Verse actually participated in such an event is up for debate at this point, but it's a clear comic reference for those familiar with Spider-Man's multiple and varied looks from the past 50 years.

This image is another striking visual from Spider-Verse, but may be just a glimpse at the final product. This version of Peter Parker (voiced by Jake Johnson) may have many other suits in similar cases. There could be a sequence of Peter showing Miles the rest of his collection, teasing the years of heroic work he's already done. Again, these suits could have major implications to fans of the comic lore, and could even be used to tease sequels, spinoffs, or prequels for Spider-Verse if it is successful. And with a handful of other version of Spider-Man confirmed to appear, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has the potential to be full of references and Easter eggs.
