Taika Waititi says he's developing a "Nazi comedy"

Taika Waititi has brought his wacky energy to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the well-received Thor: Ragnarok, and it sounds like one of his next projects is going to do something even weirder with that wacky energy than simply use it to turn introduce some ridiculousness to one of the MCU’s least-loved brands. As Waititi revealed in an interview with Vice, after the movie about Michael Jackson’s chimpanzee, he’s going to make a “Nazi comedy.” He doesn’t offer any details other than to say it’s a “smaller film,” but he jokes that it’s “weirdly perfect timing” because “Nazis are cool again.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Waititi mentioned that he took the Thor job because he though it would be the best way to annoy the “few admirers in little independent pockets” that he had, so maybe this Nazi comedy—whatever it ends up being—has a similar button-pushing purpose.

Wonder how well this will go over... a Nazi comedy? Hmm...
