The trailer and synopsis for next week’s Supernatural see Sam and Dean forced to pull a heist with pair of quirky new partners. Supernatural has spent the past few episodes with the Winchesters attempting to rescue their mother and Jack from Apocalypse World, and it’s not going well. Yesterday’s episode saw Mary and Bobby reunited – or at least versions of them – while Jack finally got a grip on his abilities. He may just have what it takes to get back home, but Sam and Dean aren’t waiting around.

Without spoiling anything, this week’s episode of Supernatural teased that Sam and Dean are going to need some very rare ingredients for the spell that will open a door to Apocalypse World. The series is walking the line of heading back into some dark territory, and the impending invasion of Michael and the evil angels doesn’t help matters. Luckily, it looks as if next week will lighten things up a bit.

The CW released the trailer for ‘A Most Holy Man,’ next week’s episode of Supernatural. In it, we see Sam and Dean appear to head to England where they pair up with an unusual duo in order to pull a heist. And given the tone of the teaser, next week will see Supernatural lean into the comedy it excels at. The synopsis for the episode was also released, revealing the brothers will naturally get in over their heads.

DIVINE INTERVENTION – Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are close to collecting everything they need to open a rift into the apocalyptic world and possibly rescuing Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) and Jack (Alexander Calvert). The one missing ingredient leads the Winchesters to a black market for religious relics where everything is not always as it seems. Amanda Tapping directed the episode written by Robert Singer & Andrew Dabb (#1315). Original airdate 3/8/2018.
Rather than show Sam and Dean collecting everything they need, it appears ‘A Most Holy Man’ will see them seeking just one item. Likely, it’s the blood of the titular figure. That quest will lead them to the new characters from the trailer as well as a black market that promises a lot of fun and probably a bit of danger.

This won’t be the last romp this season, either. The Supernatural/Scooby-Doo crossover is right around the corner. It’s been awhile since the show did a real meta episode, but an animated team-up with Mystery, Inc. sounds destined to become a fan-favorite. Hopefully, the remainder of the season will also check back in with Jody and her growing band of hunters. Though they’ll likely have their own series soon, fans are still waiting for more news on how Wayward Sisters will be different from Supernatural. But with the season’s end not far away, we should have a better idea about the future of the Supernatural universe.

Supernatural continues next Thursday, March 8 with ‘A Most Holy Man’ on The CW.
