Supergirl executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti have the perfect role for former Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter: President of the United States.

Following an early screening of CBS' The Flash-Supergirl crossover, Kreisberg and Berlanti revealed that they're been trying to bring her to the show for a while now. "We had the perfect role for Lynda Carter," Berlanti said. "We couldn't work out her schedule. Next year."

"We're going to do it, we'll just do it next year," Kreisberg added. Berlanti followed with the reveal on who she'd play: "All right, she's the female president of the United States."

And she's not the first DC Comics alumni to join the cast of Supergirl. Helen Slater, who played Supergirl in the 1984 film, and Dean Cain, who played Superman in Louis & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman TV show, appear in prominent roles as Kara's Earth parents.

CBS renewed 11 of its shows today, though none of the network's new shows -- including Supergirl -- were included. However, CBS is expected to most likely renew Supergirl for a second season by the network Upfronts in May.
