Ewan McGregor will gladly sign up for a Christopher Robin sequel, the actor himself says. Directed by Marc Forster, McGregor played the role of the titular character of the Disney project, alongside Hayley Atwell who played his wife, Evelyn Robin. Meanwhile, Jim Cummings led the cast of voice actor by bringing Winnie the Pooh to life. The live-action film, which mined inspiration from A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard's book Winnie-the-Pooh, racked over $90 million at the global box office.

Christopher Robin tackles the life of an older, more worldly version of the headlining character decades after he embarked on countless adventures with Pooh and his pack of adorable friends in Hundred Acre Wood. The film picks up with Christopher struggling to balance work and family life, and it's up to his old faithful friends to rejuvenate his sense of fun and motivation to live life to the fullest.

Speaking with IOL, McGregor expressed his eagerness to star in a Christopher Robin sequel if Disney ever makes one. "Totally ready for the sequel. It was never mentioned when we shot it [but] I'd be happy to do it again. I'd be up for it. I'll sign on the dotted line right now," he said. As of now, there are no talks of a follow-up film just yet, but with the property making decent money for the House of Mouse, it's not outside the realm of possibility that Pooh and his best bud return to the big screen in the future.

While everyone will surely look forward to a Christopher Robin sequel, many are more interested in knowing whether or not the Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff starring McGregor will ever come to fruition. Rumors of the prequel have been going on for years, with Billy Elliot and The Reader director Stephen Daldry in line to direct at one point. However, the latest word is Daldry left the project a while ago, and Lucasfilm is putting future Star Wars anthologies on hold in the wake of Solo's disappointing box office haul. McGregor remains adamant that there are currently no official talks with Lucasfilm about Obi-Wan (although he's repeatedly said he'd be happy to do it), while the company maintains its silence with regard to the matter.

With no official announcement for a Christopher Robin sequel and the Kenobi prequel, fans can expect McGregor's next appearance on the big screen in Doctor Sleep, a movie adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same name which is a sequel to his 1977 novel The Shining. McGregor is set to play the older version of Danny Torrance opposite Rebecca Ferguson who will portray Rose the Hat, leader of the True Knot. The project directed by Mike Flanagan is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to hit theaters in 2020.
