Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang appears to have an updated suit for Ant-Man and the Wasp as our first look at his battle garb is released online. After Marvel Studios successfully launched their biggest characters with their respective franchises, the film company delved into developing their lesser known properties who have lesser fan affinity than the main Avengers – including Rudd’s shrinking superhero. Due to production kerfuffles, many were worried about Ant-Man‘s chances at being on par in terms of success with other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. But thanks to the witty dialog and small-scale heist feel to it, Ant-Man became a worthy addition to the massive superhero franchise.

Following his debut film, Lang was next seen in Captain America: Civil War, where he sided with the super soldier, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), in his dispute with Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). This caused him to end up in the Raft – a super-secure, underwater prison, but since Steve was teased to have broken him and the rest of Team Cap out of the facility, we really do not know his current whereabouts. What is sure, however, is that he will eventually reunite with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Hope with her new alter-ego, the Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) in Ant-Man 2.

The sneak peek (which you can check out above) of Lang’s upgraded suit comes courtesy of a video posted on the official Avengers Facebook page promoting Day of Giving – a charity effort to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. In the video, Rudd is seen in the middle of the frame, standing side-by-side with Lilly, who is also wearing her Wasp costume. In the clip, other Marvel heroes like on-screen sisters Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana) can also be seen, as well as, Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 helmers Joe and Anthony Russo and even Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

Rudd appears to be wearing a different looking suit in comparison to the one he sported in Ant-Man. It now has more black patches and its chest part seems to be devoid of the original details it initially had. That said, it makes sense that an upgrade is imminent as not only do MCU heroes tend to have tweaked suits in every movie, Pym’s involvement also makes it more sensible in terms of narrative.

Principal photography for Ant-Man And The Wasp, which began earlier this month, is currently taking place in Atlanta, Georgia. Not much is known regarding the narrative that it will tread but it is expected to provide some answers about Janet van Dyne’s – aka the original Wasp, who will be played by Michelle Pfeiffer – mysterious disappearance in the quantum realm. Judy Greer as Maggie Lang, Michael Pena as Luis and Abby Ryder Fortson as Cassie are set to reprise their respective roles while newcomers like Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo will be making their big MCU debut via the sequel.
