The Star Trek Universe will make an appearance at SDCC 2020 with panels for Discovery, Picard, and more. Hailed as one of the biggest entertainment conventions of all time, SDCC is the highlight of the year as fans of popular franchises are often awarded trailers, exclusive merchandise, and major studio announcements. In May, San Diego Comic-Con revealed that the convention would host a virtual edition of the event amid coronavirus concerns. Now, it appears that Star Trek will have a significant presence at Comic-Con@Home.

Today, CBS All Access revealed they would roll out panels for Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Discovery, and animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks. Slated to begin July 23 on SDCC’s official YouTube channel, the Star Trek Universe lineup will feature special appearances from Sir Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, and more. The Star Trek Universe lineup is topping off the Comic-Con experience by unveiling an exclusive first look at Star Trek: Lower Decks, which premieres on August 6, and offering details on upcoming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds TV show.

Without official in-person attendance, SDCC 2020 is opting to work around the year of cancellations by offering a virtual lineup that includes panels for The Walking Dead, Bob’s Burgers, and Bill & Ted Face The Music. However, Marvel Studios is reportedly not hosting a panel at this year’s event. On the heels of exciting developments in the Star Trek galaxy, including Star Trek: Picard being renewed for season 2, plot details revealed for Star Trek: Discovery season 3, and Star Trek: Lower Decks on the horizon, SDCC 2020 is a crucial time for CBS All Access to showcase the Star Trek universe.
