Daniel Radcliffe has actual guns violently bolted to his hands against his will in the trailer for the dark comedy Guns Akimbo. Best known for his roles in the Harry Potter films, Daniel Radcliffe has since gone on to star in a variety of films that span genres, from Trainwreck to Kill Your Darlings. Guns Akimbo is slated to premiere in theaters everywhere February 28.

Daniel Radcliffe stars in the film as “Miles,” a geeky video game developer whose life changes when he accidentally gets caught up as the next contestant with SKIZM, an underground gang streaming real-life death matches. As a result, Miles gets actual guns nailed to his hands so he doesn’t have a choice but to participate. Radcliffe was first announced as Guns Akimbo's star back in 2017. The film first premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year. Photos of a crazed Radcliffe in character from the film vent viral a year before the movie’s release with many hilarious memes created as a result.

The character of Miles makes it quite clear in the trailer that having guns bolted to his hands against his will - not to mention his ex-girlfriend being kidnapped by the evil gang SKIZM - is without a doubt the worst day of his life. The official trailer packs plenty of surprises, not to mention Radcliffe's spot on American accent. Check out the action packed Guns Akimbo trailer below.

The film also features actress Samara Weaving as the killer hunting Miles down and Natasha Liu Bordizzo as his kidnapped ex-girlfriend, Nova. Guns Akimbo is directed by Jason Lei Howden, who notably worked as a visual effect artist for The Avengers. While reviews were somewhat mixed when Guns Akimbo premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2019, the worldwide theatrical release will surely allow fans of Radcliffe and crazy insane video-game themed action comedies to make up their own minds about the movie.

Daniel Radcliffe has unequivocally done a fantastic job of expanding his career post-Harry Potter by taking on roles that are a far cry from the boy who lived. The actor continues to challenge himself with diverse roles that makes it easier for audiences not to typecast him. Fans were incredibly excited imagining Radcliffe as the next Wolverine, for instance, even though he debunked the idea. Radcliffe has also demonstrated he has the magic to take on a variety of film and television roles, from comedy to dark thriller. He even mentioned that he would've been interested in taking on the role of Spider Man had Tom Holland not been cast. His new film seems to be a great volatile mixture of the genres he's tackled in the past, and audience members will have a chance to witness exactly what he does with those hand guns when the film premieres this February. With Radcliffe in the leading role, Guns Akimbo is certainly in good hands.
