An FBI agent teams with the town's veteran game tracker to investigate a murder that occurred on a Native American reservation.

Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen are hot on the trail of a cold-blooded killer in the upcoming thriller Wind River, and EW has an exclusive look at the film’s haunting trailer.

Directed by Sicario and Hell or High Water screenwriter Taylor Sheridan, Wind River centers on the murder of a young woman on a hardscrabble Indian reservation in the Wyoming wilderness. Renner plays Cory Lambert, the local game tracker who discovers the woman’s body in the snow, and Olsen portrays Jane Banner, the no-nonsense FBI agent assigned to the case.

Banner, an out-of-towner, could certainly use Lambert’s skills and knowledge of the community, but his haunted past makes him a reluctant ally.
Asked what he does for living, Lambert says, “I hunt predators.”

“So why don’t you come hunt one for me, then?” Banner replies.

Wind River, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and screened recently at Cannes, opens Aug. 4. Watch the trailer above.
