It was a surprise when Marvel and Sony brought Spider-Man under the umbrella of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His appearance in Captain America: Civil War won good reviews and seemingly stoked fans’ passion for more of Tom Holland as Spider-Man. The wait for more Spidey is not too far out with Spider-Man: Homecoming being fast tracked for a release next year.

The solo film has not stayed out of the public eye with countless casting additions, set photos, and rumors continuing to pop up throughout production. Most recently, rumors of another possible villain and even more set photos have come out as production moved to Spidey’s home state of New York. This trip is apparently short lived as members of the cast have revealed that not only are they wrapped in New York, but production as a whole has been completed.

Holland himself took to Instagram to post that today was the final day of filming on Homecoming. Recently, his other young co-stars of Zendaya (Mary Jane), Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), and Laura Harrier (Liz Allan) had made their way to New York. If Holland’s post is not enough to convince that filming has wrapped, Harrier also posted on her Snapchat that today was her final day as well.

The film wrapping at this stage puts production running just over three months. Finishing at the beginning of October will give Holland at least a month off before he reports back to Atlanta to begin filming his (unconfirmed) role in Avengers: Infinity War. Meanwhile, this will leave the entire crew a few months off before returning for the regularly scheduled pickups that Marvel does.

Now that principal photography has wrapped, the focus should turn to promoting Spidey’s first solo film in the MCU. With a mid-summer release date, fans may get their first official look at the film by the end of the year. In the meantime, fans are still eagerly awaiting a trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but the first official teaser will likely resemble the footage shown at SDCC earlier this summer. While it is unlikely, it would be something if they released the first teaser this week at New York Comic-Con. In the meantime, fans will have to wait and see any footage that could give them their first look at Michael Keaton’s Vulture.
