Spider-Man: Homecoming Villain Details Reportedly Revealed

Now that Tom Holland has made his debut as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming will be the first true test of the collaboration between Marvel Studios and Sony. With Spider-Man now living in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his solo film will have connections to the larger universe, but it is sometimes easy to forget that he is bringing along an entire universe of characters with him.

For his first solo adventure, Spider-Man will be going up against villains that have so far not appeared on the big screen. Multiple reports have pointed to Vulture and Shocker, reportedly played by Michael Keaton and Bokeem Woodbine respectively. But that will not be it, as a new report points to another antagonist joining the fray, but more so for Peter’s personal life.

Schmoes Know reports that two new pieces of information point to Logan Marshall-Green (Quarry) potentially playing Aunt May’s new boyfriend, and “a surprise appearance from a character that is central to the Spider-Man mythos, one who will play a larger role in upcoming films.” They could not confirm who this central figure would be, and do not indicate whether or not this character is a friend or foe.

Marshall-Green serving as Aunt May’s potential boyfriend would be something that fans have not yet seen on screen. All of Peter’s foes in the past have mainly been Spidey villains first, who might also come into conflict with Peter. This would further complicate the balancing act of being a teen and a hero as Peter may have to decide whether or not to stop a villain or the next date for his aunt.

Past Spider-Man films have always had the Osborn family featured, but there has not yet been any evidence of Norman (or Harry) making an appearance in Homecoming. However, Marshall-Green could fit the mold of a still-rising Norman Osborn and would be old enough to potentially have a high school-age son. His initial casting labeled him as a villain and he is the type of actor who is somewhat recognizable, but at the same time, he isn’t the usual big name that Marvel casts in potentially recurring roles.

Whatever the role that Marshall-Green is taking on, it will likely be revealed soon. Now that filming on the movie has wrapped and it gets set to enter post production, hopefully a trailer will be cut very soon.

    Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man: Homecoming – July 7, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018; Avengers: Infinity – May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel– March 8, 2019; Untitled Avengers – May 3, 2019; and as-yet-untitled Marvel movies on July 12, 2019, and on May 1, July 10, and November 6 in 2020.

I still think that those First 2 movies are the best (Spider-Man 2002 and 2004) , They complicate it too much with all the Avengers team , now again new actor..Hope at least to be a decent one, not like THE last 2 ones!
