Crazy Rich Asians star Remy Hii is joining the the cast of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Sony and Marvel Studios aren't allowing Peter Parker's current MCU status derail plans for a franchise. Despite Tom Holland having the most emotional death scene in Avengers: Infinity War, he and many others will be brought back to life sooner than later. How this happens is still a mystery, but Spider-Man will be the first hero to lead a solo movie following their resurrections. Far From Home's globe-trotting adventure picks up right after Avengers 4, and will pit a resurrected Spider-Man against Mysterio, reported to be played by Jake Gyllenhaal.

Although Gyllenhaal is undoubtedly the big addition for the sequel, the cast is much bigger than just him and Holland. Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders are set to appear and bring Nick Fury and Maria Hill back to life. There's also the inclusion of Peter's classmates. However, more roles apparently still need to be filled, which has just brought one of the stars of Crazy Rich Asians into the MCU.

Remy Hii is the latest to join the cast of Far From Home according to a new report by The Wrap. His new MCU role has not been revealed. Hii is fresh off an appearance in Crazy Rich Asians as Alistair Cheng, the cousin to the film's male lead Nick Young (Henry Golding). Hii's previous credits include major roles in Harrow and Marco Polo.

Crazy Rich Asians is projected to open even bigger than original estimates, so Hii looks to be capitalizing on the buzz to nab a coveted role in a comic book movie. Since there are no details on Hii's role (not even a brief description or character name), his addition doesn't reveal anything new about Far From Home's secretive plot. Although the insights fans are craving aren't found here, there is a possible clue.

Previous reports called for Sony and Marvel looking to find another male lead for Far From Home. The casting was open to all ethnicities and specifically noted someone with "leading man" qualities between the ages of 18-24. Hii is slightly older than this age range, but he could fit the bill. If so, then he has potentially landed a significant role in the sequel. The early speculation for this casting call was possibly for the MCU's Harry Osborn, but that was just a theory. As production continues on Spider-Man: Far From Home, hopefully more details on Hii's character and the film overall are made available.
