Villain and filming details from Sony's Morbius the Living Vampire movie are now here. Sony is just a few months away from the beginning of their latest Spider-Man related venture. While Tom Holland brings Spidey to life in the MCU, Sony is making separate standalone films based on characters from his comic universe. Venom will be the first film out the gate in October, but they're developing Silver & Black and Nightwatch too - both of which have directors attached.

Although Morbius is a bit of a newer addition to their lineup, it is actually the one that is moving the quickest. Sony brought Jared Leto on to star as Dr. Michael Morbius. The solo movie will be directed by Life's Daniel Espinosa. Outside of those two major additions, there haven't been many details on the rest of the project.

A new report from That Hashtag Show looks to change that ahead of Sony's San Diego Comic-Con panel. The outlet is reporting that Morbius is looking to cast two additional lead roles right now. The first is for a 30-40 year old male who is a former friend turned foe for Morbius. That Hashtag Show believes this will be Emil Nikos, Morbius' first victim in the comics. There's also an “intelligent, cutthroat businesswoman" open for actresses of any ethnicity between 25-40 years old. She may be Morbius' fiancée Martine Bancroft. Casting could be announced soon, as Sony is eyeing a November start to production.

If the villain of Morbius is Emil Nikos, the film would likely change the character's arc to make it happen. Emil is Morbius' best friend in the comics and spends years of his life trying cure his rare blood disease. When the experiment to cure Morbius failed and turned him into a vampire, Emil was quickly killed. Unless Morbius focuses more on Leto playing a dying Michael Morbius instead of the Living Vampire, then there isn't a longevity that comes with this role. They could change it so Emil is turned into a vampire instead, but he uses his powers for evil and makes Morbius the only one who can stop him.

With more details on the possible cast now revealed, it may not be long before those decisions are made public. Sony's SDCC panel tonight is going to focus heavily on Venom, so they could make additional announcements on other Spidey-spinoffs, Morbius including. Sony has tried to start a cinematic universe based on Spider-Man a few times already, but they don't appear to be taking this slow. If Morbius is going to film in November, it will give Sony about a month to gauge reactions from Venom. Unless the movie winds up being one of the biggest bombs of the year, Sony looks ready to get Morbius moving quicker than many would've anticipated.
