A new solo film centered around the Hulk isn't likely to happen anytime soon, according to Bruce Banner actor Mark Ruffalo.

In an interview with Yahoo! Movies Ruffalo explained that while the studio is looking into a new film, Universal's ownership of the solo Hulk movies has made it difficult. "Marvel and Universal famously don’t get along very well, and so that’s working against us, definitely," he said.

"The nature of the relationship right now, it’s a little prohibitive," he added, noting it may change sometime in the future, "but right now it doesn’t look particularly promising."

While Universal currently holds the distribution rights to new Hulk movies, a report earlier this year clarified that Disney and Marvel still have production rights to make new films.

Last year, Ruffalo discussed the possibility of a standalone Hulk film, saying Marvel was "entertaining the idea of it" but nothing concrete had been laid out.

Hulk will appear in Thor: Ragnarok when it opens on November 3, 2017. If reports earlier this year prove true, the pair of heroes will be embarking on a cosmic road trip.
