Not content with writing, producing, directing and appearing in movies, Seth Rogen (alongside regular production/writing/directing partner Evan Goldberg) has been putting his fingerprints over all sorts of TV series, including Preacher. He's looking to add to that collection, striking a deal to develop a US version of ITV2's Plebs.

The series, written by Sam Leifer along with writer and performer Tom Basden (he's Aurelius in the show), is set in Ancient Rome and chronicles the everyday lives of a group of blokes hatching schemes to get ahead. Series 4 is about to see a shake-up of the status quo, at least on the character front, with the departure of Stylax (Joe Fry) and remaining regulars Marcus (Tom Rosenthal) and (Ryan Sampson) dealing with new arrival Jason (Jonathan Pointing).

No details have been forthcoming about what the US take might look like, assuming it gets out of development at all, nor who will be working to bring it to life. It will, however, be a co-production between Rogen's Point Grey Pictures company and Rise Films, which makes the UK show.

As for Rogen back on our screens, he'll next be seen in Flarsky, which has a February 2019 release date in the States but no official UK slot yet, and is voicing Pumbaa in the new Lion King, out on 19 July next year.
